    Hyderabad woman loses Rs 1.70 lakh to fraudsters posing as employer on WhatsApp

    A Hyderabad woman, working at a private company, transferred Rs. 1.70 lakh after receiving WhatsApp messages from her superior’s number, believing them to be genuine, said cybercrime officials. Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman was duped of Rs. 1.70 lakh by cyber fraudsters who sent Whatsapp messages posing as her employer. The woman, who works with a private company in Hyderabad, received messages on Whatsapp from the phone number belonging to her superior. Believing to be genuine, the woman transferred Rs. 1.70 lakh to the number, Hyderabad cybercrime officials said. The woman later realized that the messages were not sent by her boss but someone else who had hacked his mobile phone Whatsapp and sent the messages. The amount was transferred to some unknown UPI accounts. The police on a complaint, from the victim registered a case and are investigating.

    Washington: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ has been renewed for its 21st season. Currently in its 20th season, the following season is anticipated to include 18 episodes, up from the 10-episode strike-impacted 20th season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.       Los Angeles: Filmmaker Barry Jenkins appeared on stage at the global Disney fan event D23 Expo to officially announce ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’, a new prequel to the 2019 ‘Lion King’ film. Originally announced in 2020 as a sequel to the 2019 film, ‘Mufasa’ tells the origin story of the iconic Disney father, exploring his childhood growing up with his brother Scar.
