Police neutralises landmine planted by Maoists in Cherla

Kothagudem: Police have detonated a land mine planted by the Maoists on Vaddipeta-Pusuguppa road in Cherla mandal in the district on Saturday. Cherla Inspector of Police B Ashok in a statement said that a police team engaged in combing operations spotted the 15 kg landmine with the aim of killing the policemen. The landmine was neutralised with the help of the bomb squad, he said. It might be noted that a CRPF camp has been set up at Pusuguppa on the borders of Telangana-Chhattisgarh States recently and it was visited by Telangana DGP M Mahender Reddy and additional DG (Greyhounds) K Srinivasa Reddy, SIB chief Prabhakar Rao and others on Oct 19. source.

Telangana govt accords permission to fill-up 134 DSE posts

Hyderabad: The State government on Saturday accorded permission to fill-up 134 vacant posts under the control of Director of School Education through direct recruitment. Of the total posts, 24 are deputy educational officer/gazetted head master grade-I, 23 District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) senior lecturers, 22 lecturers IASE/CTE/SCERT and 65 DIET lecturers. Accordingly, the Finance department has issued GO MS 165 and asked the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to initiate steps for direct recruitment of the vacant posts. The Commission was also asked to obtain requisite details such as local cadre-wise vacancy position, roster points, qualifications etc., from secretary and head of the School Education department and issue the notification and schedule for recruitment, expeditiously. Kothagudem: Woman attempts suicide after fight with daughter over cot

Kothagudem: A petty clash over a cot and utensils reportedly forced a woman to attempt death by suicide at Paloncha town in the district on Saturday. The woman, S Savithri works in a kirana store and lives with her daughter M Lakshmi at Brahman Bazaar in the town. For the last few days, both were arguing over a cot and other appliances, which the mother wanted to use. However, Lakshmi reportedly did not allow her mother to use the cot to sleep. Upset over her daughter’s behaviour, Savithri doused herself with petrol and set herself ablaze. Neighbours rushed to her rescue and shifted her to the District Hospital for treatment. Hyderabad: The State’s flagship initiatives, Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha, have once again come in for appreciation by Central agencies. These initiatives, along with other interventions taken up by the Telangana government have aided in increasing ground water recharge and reduction in ground water extraction, the agencies said. According to the Dynamic Ground Water Resource Assessment Report 2022 released by union Minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Wednesday, the annual Ground Water Recharge in Telangana has increased from 16.63 to 21.11 billion cubic meters (BCM). Hyderabad: With several hostels in dilapidated conditions and uninhabitable, Osmania University (OU) is constructing a new hostel on the university campus. Works for the new 500-bed hostel, which will cater to the needs of men studying in the campus colleges, will commence this month. Students booked in ragging and attempt to murder case in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Shankarpally police registered a case of attempt to murder and ragging against a group of students from a Business school under it’s jurisdiction on Friday. A student from the Business school in Shankarpally had complained to the police that a group of senior students came to his room in the college hostel and thrashed, abused and sexually assaulted him. The group made a video of the assault and circulated in social media. Three killed, three injured in road accidents in Telangana

Hanamkonda/Jangaon: Three people were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents on Friday night. In the first incident, two people- Chukka Ajay (24), driver, and Annam Nagarjuna Reddy- died on the spot when the car they were travelling in had an head-on collision with a lorry on the outskirts of Shanigaram village of Kamalapur mandal in Hanamkonda district around 11.30 pm on Friday. Three others- Chukka Ashok, Ujjakula Vijayender and Tanduri Praveen Kumar- sustained serious injuries in the incident. They were rushed to the MGM Hospital in Warangal for treatment. Residential properties worth Rs 2,237 crore registered in Hyderabad in October

 Hyderabad witnessed residential properties worth a whopping Rs 2,237 crore being transacted in the month of October In its latest assessment released on Thursday, Knight Frank India said a total of 4,597 apartments were registered last month with 51 per cent of all homes registered being in the price range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh and 66 per cent of sales registered were in the range of 1,000 sft to 2,000 sft.
