KTR promises to adopt Munugode if TRS candidate wins
Taking up the responsibility of development of Munugode constituency, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) working president and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday said he would adopt the constituency and ensure its development, if the TRS candidate K Prabhakar Reddy was voted to victory in the Munugode by-poll. The polling will be held on November 3. “I have received messages from some local youth on the bad condition of roads and other infrastructure. Multi-crore investment fraud: Hyderabad Cops to grill seven accused
The Hyderabad police got custody of seven of the nine persons who were remanded after their arrest in the multi-crore investment fraud on Wednesday. Hyderabad Police Commissioner, CV Anand said the ten persons who were arrested were involved in a multi-crore fraud. In two foreign exchange companies, an amount of Rs. 903 crore was transferred while it was estimated the fraud could run into thousands of crores where in lakhs of people were duped. One person Sahil Bajaj had obtained bail from the court. “The court granted custody of seven persons. NRI doctor donates Rs 20 cr to Guntur govt hospital
An Indian-origin doctor from the US has donated her life savings of Rs 20 crore for the construction of the Mother and Child Hospital (MCH) to be built in the premises of Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH here. Dr Uma Devi Gavini, hails from Kuchipudi near Tenali and her father Gavini Venkateswara Rao was also a doctor in the region. She completed her MBBS in 1965 at Guntur Medical College and moved to the US about 40 years ago. She is at present working as an immunologist and allergy specialist. The aftermath of rain: Traffic jam from Suchitra to Kompally today
Due to heavy rains that lashed the city last night, traffic came to halt at many localities on Thursday morning. Traffic congestion was reported from Suchitra to Kompally due to waterlogging. Commuters going towards Medchal were struck for at least half-an-hour on this stretch. Meanwhile, cops have been deployed at all key points to manage traffic. As per IMD forecast, the city may experience more rain for the next three days. “Generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers at times intense spells very likely to occur in the city. Eight persons jailed for drunk driving in Rachakonda
Eight persons who were caught for driving in an inebriated condition by the Rachakonda traffic police were awarded jail terms by a local court. A total of 158 persons who were caught during the drunk driving checking were produced before the court. Of them, eight persons were awarded eight days jail term while eight others were asked do community services for period between one day and five days. World Arthritis Day: Over 1,000 participants take part in walkathon in Hyderabad
Over 1,000 participants took part in a mega walkathon organised by Yashoda Hospitals at Necklace Road, on the occasion of World Arthritis Day on Wednesday. Participating in the special walk, senior orthopaedics from the hospital said that individuals must walk at least for five days in a week. They must walk briskly for 45-minutes, which will help ease stiffness and help posture related pains. KTR pats Telangana’s boxer Nikhat Zareen
Reigning boxing world champion and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nikhat Zareen met KT Rama Rao, IT and Industries Minister, at the HGCL office in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The Nizamabad boxer has been in super form winning back to back titles. She first one the gold medal at the Strandja Memorial boxing tournament and then won the title at the Women’s World Boxing Champion. She continued her good run at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham as well, winning the gold medal for the country. The Minister lauded Zareen’s performances and hoped that she would achieve more success in the future. CM KCR attends the funeral of Mulayam Singh Yadav and pays tributes
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao participated in the last rites of Samajwadi Party founder and Uttar Pradesh former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav at the latter’s native village of Saifai in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. He paid rich floral tributes to the mortal remains of the departed leader. Mulayam Singh Yadav, who also served as union Minister, died on Monday at the age of 82, following prolonged illness. Hyderabad: Rs 2 crore unaccounted money seized in Banjara Hills
The Banjara Hills police seized around Rs 2 crore unaccounted money from four persons on Tuesday night. On specific information, the Commissioner’s Task Force (west) team along with Banjara Hills police stopped a car at Road No 12 and found cash in the vehicle. The occupants of the car could not show documents in support of the source of cash and hence the amount seized. The Banjara Hills police booked a case. Hyderabad: Cash of Rs 3.5 crore seized at Gandhinagar
The Gandhinagar police seized Rs 3.5 crore from six persons who were transporting the amount in a car on Tuesday. On a tip-off, the police stopped a car at Gandhinagar and found the six persons carrying the cash with them. The amount is in different denominations.
