Telangana logs 129 new COVID-19 cases

Hyderabad: Telangana on Tuesday recorded 129 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 8, 36,181. Hyderabad district saw the highest number of cases with 50. A COVID-19 bulletin said 141 people recuperated from the infection and the cumulative number of recoveries was 8,31,226 till date. The recovery rate stood at 99.41 percent. No fresh fatality due to the infection occurred and the death toll continued to be 4,111. The bulletin said 12,311 samples were tested on Tuesday. The number of active cases stood at 844.

Telangana: Dasara holidays to begin from Sep 26, schools to reopen on Oct 10

Hyderabad: Starting on September 26, there will be a 14-day Dasara holidays for all state schools and they will reopen only on October 10. The festival of Dasara is on October 5. According to the academic calendar released by the School Education department, the Christmas break will be observed by missionary schools from December 22 to December 28 and by non-missionary schools from January 13 to January 17, 2023.

Secunderabad fire tragedy: Toll goes up to 8, KTR announces ex gratia

The toll in last night’s blaze in an electric bike showroom in Secunderabad has gone up to eight. Meanwhile, IT Minister KT Rama Rao expressed grief over the accident and said the State government had decided to give an ex gratia of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of the persons who were killed in the incident. ‘Shopping mall spending returning to pre-Covid levels in India’

Hyderabad saw 7.2 million sqft of gross leasable area (GLA) in malls during January to June this year. This is about 7.7% of the country’s (top eight Indian cities) total mall stock of 92.9 million sqft. About 3.9 million sqft (52%) of Hyderabad’s mall space is classified as Grade A, the highest share of Grade A mall stock in the country, said a report ‘Think India, Think Retail 2022 – Reinventing Indian Shopping Malls’ launched by real estate consultancy Knight Frank India. Hyderabad: At least seven persons sustained severe burn injuries when a major fire broke out in an electric bike showroom at Secunderabad on Monday night. The fire rapidly spread to the hotel located above the electric bike showroom, police said. Officials suspect a short circuit led to the fire. Telangana HC issues directions to officials on late night running of pubs

Hyderabad: Justice K Lalitha of Telangana High Court on Monday issued a series of directions to multiple public authorities on the question of running of pubs in twin cities. The orders came to be passed in two writ petitions by Jubilee Hills Residents Clean and Green Association and B.
