Prince Harry reveals he is ‘not religious’ despite Royal family’s deep Christian ties

The Duke of Sussex shows in his memoir how deeply spiritual he is in relation to his memories of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales. But the powerful religious ties that permeated the life of his grandmother and his father are notably absent from Spare. In fact, the Duke reveals in his new autobiography that he is “not religious” – despite his family’s historical and significantly close ties with the Church of England. Broaching the subject after recounting hunting and shooting a stag during his childhood in Balmoral, the family’s Scottish home, the Duke wrote: “I wasn’t religious, but this ‘blood facial’ was, to me, baptismal.” ‘Blooding,’ he explained, is a ritual to initiate newcomers into the hunting ranks and a show…

Home Secretary tells Holocaust survivor she ‘won’t apologise’ for ‘invasion’ rhetoric

Suella Braverman has said she will not apologise for her language after a Holocaust survivor told the Home Secretary her description of migrants as an “invasion” was akin to rhetoric the Nazis used to justify murdering her family. Ms Braverman was confronted by Joan Salter, 83, during a meeting in her Fareham constituency in Hampshire on Friday evening. Ms Salter, who has been recognised with an MBE for her work on Holocaust education, likened Ms Braverman’s rhetoric on migrants attempting to cross the English Channel to that used by the Nazis during the Second World War. When I hear you using words against refugees like ‘swarms’ and an ‘invasion’, I am reminded of the language used to dehumanise and justify the murder of my family and millions of others…

1.4 million copies of Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’ sold in less than a week

It has been a few years since the Duke and Duchesses of Sussex stepped back from their royal duties. Yet, there is still a weird sense of curiosity over their exit. Perhaps that is the reason behind Price Harry’s memoir breaking record sales. Over 1.4 million copies of ‘Spare’, his book that tells his version of events leading up to their exit, were sold. Some say that they read the book solely to understand the inside workings of the royal family. Others dismissed the book, calling Harry’s problems first world. Huge surge in Italy migrant arrivals despite PM Meloni’s ‘naval blockade’ pledge

Migrant arrivals in Italy have increased by more than 50% since far-right premier Giorgia Meloni took office at the end last October, official statistics show, contradicting claims made by her government. On Monday, interior minister Matteo Piatendosi appeared on an Italian TV show and claimed the “curve [of boat arrivals] had declined” compared to 2022.
