Hyderabad: In an effort to encourage people to switch over to Electric Vehicle(EV), the State government has decided to provide 100 per cent exemption from road tax and registration fees for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the State. The new EV policy will come into force from Monday. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the new policy was expected to give a major boost to the adoption of electric vehicles across Telangana, aligning with the State’s broader goals of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu issued orders to this effect.
