Congress plans 150-day pre-poll campaign in TS

TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.

HYDERABAD: With a strong resolve to come to power, the Congress has chalked out a 150-day programme in its extended meeting, chaired by AICC in-charge of Telangana state Manikrao Thakre here on Monday.

As part of this endeavour, Priyanka Gandhi will visit the state every fortnight up to the ensuing Assembly elections.

The leaders resolved to stay united and fight the polls together. TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy is reported to have said that he is willing to take a few steps back.

Thakre said, “Tickets will be given to those who work for the party. Anyone flaunting connections will be set aside. Anyone having difficulty in delivering results should voluntarily step down.”

Stressing on the need for discipline he said, “We will have to expose the hidden friendship of K. Chandrashekar Rao with the BJP. We should strive to impress upon the people that the Congress party is the only alternative to the BRS.”

AICC secretary S.A. Sampath Kumar said, “It has been decided to take the message that BRS is a 30 per cent commission government though the corruption level is much higher in various projects like ORR. The tag of 40 per cent commission BJP government hit the right chords in Karnataka.”

To enlist youth, the party is holding an online quiz competition on June 18. It is open to all those in the 16-35 years age-group with the winner in each Assembly constituency taking home an electric scooter, he said.

“We call on our cadre to celebrate June 2, marking the formation of Telangana state,” former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said.

After working on it for 15 years, these lakes were artificially formed to save city,” Revanth Reddy said. “We are forming a committee under M. Kodanda Reddy to study this issue elaborately. We will look at how many lands have changed hands after 2019.

CM K. Chandrashekar, K.T. Rama Rao, K. Kavitha, Santosh and Ranjit Reddy own farmhouses in the bio-conservation zone. I call on BJP leaders to write to the Centre for a probe into the issue,” he said. Adviser to CM Somesh Kumar and special chief secretary Arvind Kumar are almost like accomplices, he said.
