Derek Chisora taunts Tyson Fury over Anthony Joshua

Derek Chisora has taunted Tyson Fury over his preoccupation with heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua.

Fury had offered Joshua the chance to fight him for the WBC belt on December 3 and Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn reported that his fighter was willing to accept various conditions in order to make the fight.

Joshua last fought in September in a failed attempt to win back the IBF, WBA and WBO belts from Ukrainian unified champion Oleksandr Usyk, and had been expected to fight before the year is out.

Fury meanwhile had threatened retirement after beating Deontay Wilder in October to retain his strap, but then floated the idea of a number of different opponents as well as Joshua, including Mahmoud Charr. Now, though, he is set to fight Chisora at the start of December.

However Chisora believes that Fury cannot get over Joshua.

“AJ is living in Tyson’s head rent-free,” Chisora said, reported Sky Sports. “Tyson wakes up every day thinking about AJ and cannot do an interview without mentioning AJ.

“AJ is off living his life, doing his own thing. I don’t know why Tyson keeps talking about AJ.

“AJ could not take the fight because there were so many complications with sponsors and promoters.

“The fighters always want to fight, just fight, but the complications come from the business people around them who get in the way.”

As for Chisora’s own fight with Fury, he reported the tough process to get the fight made.

“I knew the fight was happening straight after I beat Pulev,” Chisora continued.

“The managers and promoters get in the way, they make it difficult.

“Even this fight and contract was a headache stressing me out.

“People always think making a big fight is easy but it’s always such a headache.”
