Three-day free mega cancer testing camp launched at community health centre in Eturnagaram
The testing camp will be highly helpful for the people living in agency areas like Mulugu as it would be difficult for many of them to visit either Warangal or Hyderabad bearing a lot of cost.
KARIMNAGAR: Early detection, treatment at the appropriate time and a positive mindset can cure most cancer diseases, said the chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) Dr Anjaneyulu Goud on Monday.
He launched a three-day free ‘mega cancer testing camp’ from May 22 to May 25 being organised under Prathima Hospitals at the community health centre in Eturnagaram mandal headquarters in Mulugu district.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anjaneyulu said that many people of different ages including men and women were suffering from various types of cancers in recent times. The testing camp will be highly helpful for the people living in agency areas like Mulugu as it would be difficult for many of them to visit either Warangal or Hyderabad bearing a lot of cost, he said.
Zilla Parishad chairman K. Jagadish appealed to the management of Prathima Hospitals to adopt Mulugu district and render medical services to the poor tribal people living in remote areas. He promised that the district administration would extend its full support apart from providing the basic facilities they require for the purpose.
Mulugu Congress MLA Seethakka thanked Prathima Hospitals for conducting such a free camp in the district and appealed to the people to utilise the opportunity.
District collector S. Krishna Aditya said that if any woman above 45 years of age is diagnosed with any cancer, they will be provided treatment at Prathima Hospitals for free. The patients will be provided with all kinds of facilities through ITDA present in the district, he added.
Libraries department chairman P. Govind Naik, farmers coordination committee president P. Buchaiah, MPP Vijay, district medical officer Dr Appaiah, ZP CEO Prasuna Rani, DPO Venkaiah, sarpanch Ram Murthy and superintendent of community health centre Dr Suresh and the team of doctors from Prathima Hospitals were present.
