Hyderabad: A local court on Friday sentenced a man to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for raping and sexually assaulting a minor girl at Chaitanyapuri in 2020. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000.
K Dinesh alias Chinna (29), a private employee from Kohir in Sangareddy district, had come to the city in search of work and lured the girl in the name of love. He kidnapped and married her and sexually assaulted her in confinement.
Based on a complaint from the girl’s parents, the Chaitanyapuri police booked a case and arrested Dinesh.
The court further awarded a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim.
