Hyderabad: An unidentified man, posing as a customer, allegedly stole a gold coin from Lalitha Jewellers at Punjagutta. The incident, which reportedly occurred last week, came to light only recently.
As per available information, the suspect entered the store posing as a customer during peak business hours.
He managed to divert the attention of the salespersons on the pretext of checking designs and flicked the gold coin. He further replaced it with a silver coin coated with gold colour.
The incident came to light later when the staff examined the surveillance camera footage in the shop.
A case was booked and efforts are on to trace the thief.
