Jagan to release 3923.21Cr to farmers under YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan Assistance

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, for the consecutive fifth year, would release the year’s first installment of the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan Assistance of Rs 3923.21 crore to 52,30,939 farmers across the state on Thursday, June 1.
The CM would do the distribution by the press of a button directly into the bank accounts of farmers at a centralised event at Pattikonda in Kurnool district. Thereafter, he would address a public meeting at the St. Joseph English Medium High School.
A sum of Rs 5,500 would be deposited directly into each beneficiary farmers’ account. This apart, another Rs 2,000 would be deposited similarly, under PM KISAN, and credited into the accounts of the farmers with immediate effect.
Officials said that in an unprecedented initiative, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government is extending the assistance of a total of Rs 13,500 every year under the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme to all landless SC, ST, BC, Minority tenant farmers as also the farmers cultivating ROFR and Endowment lands and eligible farmers cultivating their own lands.
Officials explained that an assistance of Rs 13,500 under YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan is distributed in three installments every year. The first installment of Rs 7,500 is distributed in May at the time of the Kharif sowing season. The second installment of Rs 4,000 is given in October for harvesting the Kharif crop and the third installment of Rs 2,000 in January / February at the time of crop harvest.
The Jagan Mohan Reddy-led state government has credited Rs 61,500 in the last 4 years to each beneficiary farmer under the YSR Rythu Bharosa – PM KISAN scheme alone. Including the present financial assistance of Rs 3,923 crore, the Jagananna Government has disbursed Rs 30,985 crore in the last four years to farmers under ‘YSR Rythu Bharosa – PM Kisan’ alone, officials explained.
The offer to farmers in the YSRC manifesto of 2019 was a payment of Rs 12,500 x 4 years, meaning a total of Rs 50,000. The Jagan Mohan Reddy government is, however, extending more — Rs 13,500 x 5 years; meaning a total of Rs 67,500 and an additional amount is being given more than manifesto promise; of Rs 17,500.
Further, the Chief Minister would deposit an amount of Rs 53.62 crore as Input Subsidy directly into the beneficiary farmers’ bank accounts, with the click of a button. Disbursal of Input Subsidy of Rs 44.19 crore is done to the 47,999 affected farmers. They were selected transparently after conducting a social audit in every RBK at village level. The beneficiaries are those who lost their crops in 30,382 hectares due to untimely rain in the months of March, April and May 2023, and Rs 9.43 crore to 3,469 farmers whose Sorghum (Jowar) and Maize crops were damaged by heavy rain after the harvest.
The officials said the state government has distributed an Input Subsidy assistance of Rs 1,965 crores in these four years to 22.74 lakh farmers who lost their crops due to natural calamities.
The Chief Minister would arrive at the Orvakal airport at 9:30am. He would proceed to Pattikonda by helicopter to participate in the Rythu Bharosa programme.
