Karnataka: 1 Dead ,3 Injured After BJP And Congress Workers Get Into Scuffle Over Bursting Crackers

At least one person lost his life after Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clashed on Saturday over bursting crackers in Karnataka’s Bengaluru district. The incident took place in the Hoskote taluka of the district. The deceased has been identified as Krishnappa. Initially, he sustained injuries in the clash. However, later he succumbed to his injuries.

According to reports, on Saturday, May 13, when Congress candidate Sharath Bachgowda was declared as the winner from Hoskote, his supporters started bursting crackers on the road. Krishnappaopposed it and his family got into a scuffle with the Congress supporters.

The dispute escalated. Krishnappa was allegedly assaulted by the Congress workers. Krishnappa was reportedly thrashed brutally by the accused. Three other people were also injured in the clash. The injured were shifted to a hospital.

Police have arrested all the four accused involved in the case. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Candidate MTB Nagaraj alleged that Krishnappa was killed because he was a supporter of the saffron party. As per the police, Krishnappa and the accused had a personal rivalry and when the scuffle broke out over bursting crackers, they attacked him. Meanwhile, Karnataka BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel and other leaders of the saffron party, including KS Eshwarappa and MTB Nagaraj, will visit the family of the deceased in Hoskote.

In the recently concluded assembly elections, Bachgowda defeated his nearest rival BJP’s N Nagaraju with amrgin of over 4,000 votes.
