KTR must bow before Priyanka, says Revanth
TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.
HYDERABAD: Following BRS working president K T Rama Rao’s remarks about Priyanka Gandhi being a political tourist the day before her visit to Hyderabad, TPCC president and MP A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday asked the BRS minister to bow before Priyanka Gandhi in recognition of her mother Sonia Gandhi’s efforts as UPA chairperson to grant Telangana separate statehood.
“If the Congress government had not given Telangana state, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his son Rama Rao might have been begging outside the Birla temple and Nampally Dargah. Rama Rao must bow before Priyanka Gandhi and touch her feet,” Revanth remarked.
Revanth also lashed out at Rama Rao stating that he was in no way associated with the Telangana movement and that his name was “borrowed from Andhra” and he did his education in Guntur. “Rama Rao worked in America. As per GO 610, Rama Rao is not eligible to hold any position in Telangana,” he stated.
“The BRS ruling party encourages miscreants who hold Godse portraits in Hyderabad. What action has been taken against those miscreants,”? he asked.
Responding to his suggestion that Priyanka uses her trip to Hyderabad to learn about developments in Telangana, Revanth questioned Rama Rao rather sarcastically about the issues that need to be studied, whether to learn from the struggles faced by the farmers, TSPSC and SSC paper leaks, 3,000 liquor stores, or 60,000 belt shops in Telangana.
“As many as 25 students died after the wrong evaluation took place in Intermediate exams,” he remarked.
Revanth lodges complaint against BJP leader
Revanth lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police demanding action against Manikanta Rathod for threatening AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge. “We have noticed that Manikanta Rathod of the BJP party made threatening calls to Mallikarjuna Kharge and warned that he would kill him,” Revanth stated. He also demanded that the BJP suspend Manikanta from the party.
