Two siblings drown in River Munneru at Chinna Mandava, while an Irrigation Department staffer dies after his motorbike hits a buffalo at Bonakal; TDP Khammam rural mandal unit president killed in road accident
Khammam: Four persons died in separate incidents in the district on Friday.
In an incident at Chinna Mandava of Chintakani mandal in the district, two siblings drowned in River Munneru. The deceased, K Naga Gopi and his brother Nanda Kishore, along with another youth of the village went to the river to wash their motorbike.
After washing the bike, they entered the river to wash themselves, fell into the water body and drowned. Local fishermen saved a youth while the siblings drowned. Their bodies were recovered using JCBs.
In another incident, an Irrigation Department staffer Y Appaiah (50) while travelling on a motorbike hit a buffalo at Kalakota of Bonakal mandal and suffered serious head injuries. He died while being taken to hospital.
TDP Khammam rural mandal unit president S Srinivas Goud (50) died in a road accident under Edulapuram municipality limits. He was injured when a speeding mini-truck hit a motorbike on which he was travelling during midnight hours on Thursday. He died while being shifted to Hyderabad for treatment.
