Veterinary doctor nabbed by ACB while taking bribe

Ramesh Rathod, was apprehended red-handed when he was collecting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from Jugunaka Madhav, a veterinary assistant

Adilabad: A veterinary doctor working in the animal husbandry department was arrested by officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) allegedly while accepting a bribe from his subordinate for giving his salary at Shyampur village Utnoor mandal on Wednesday.

Officials of the ACB said the doctor, Ramesh Rathod, was apprehended red-handed when he was collecting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from Jugunaka Madhav, a veterinary assistant.

Madhav who was working with Shyampur sub-centre was transferred recently. Ramesh harassed Madhav demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 to sanction his salary that was pending for two months. He agreed to give the salary if Madhay pays Rs15,000 as the bribe.

Vexed at Ramesh’s greed, Madhav approached the ACB who in turn laid a trap and took the doctor into custody while accepting the bribe at Shyampur sub-health centre of the animal husbandry department.

The ACB officials said that Ramesh would be produced before a special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar by evening.
