Vladimir Putin could drop a nuclear bomb on Russia to fight “invading partisans”.
Wagner Group mercenary Yevgeny Prigozhin made the chilling prediction in his latest rant as he continues his criticism of the Kremlin amid Russia’s struggles on the battlefield in Ukraine.
In his latest rambling statement, Prigozhin said: “Could they (Russia) have the vile idea of dropping a tactical nuclear bomb on their own territory?
“Is that why we are retreating in the Belgorod region, allowing them to advance, because it’s frightening to throw (a bomb) at someone else’s territory but we’ll throw one on our own.
“It’s a big question if the (nuclear bomb) would work properly.”
Last month, Russians who are against the war in Ukraine launched a raid in the Belgorod region, marking the first invasion into Russian land since World War II.
Moscow officials have voiced their concern over the armed incursion that has led to civilians fleeing the region.
Despite the advances of the pro-Ukraine fighters, Moscow released a statement claiming that the military had killed “1500 servicemen” and destroyed “100 armoured vehicles” but Prigozhin has questioned the validity of the claims.
The warlord said: “To destroy one and a half thousand people, it must be such a massacre, within one day, over 150 kilometres, one hell of a massacre.
“Therefore, I think that these are just some wild fantasies.”
