SC-appointed committee seeks info from Hyderabad Cricket Association

Hyderabad: The supervisory committee appointed by the Supreme Court of India to monitor the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), asked the organisation to furnish details of all registered clubs which are its members.  The committee, headed by Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau director general Anjani Kumar, sought details of name and address of the club, details of office bearers, registration type, bank details, by-laws, audit report, email IDs and website of the HCA, etc. It also sought addresses of the grounds where players practice and their names along with other details of HCA associated cricketers. TS-bPASS helps GHMC coffers swell

The Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self Certification System (TS-bPASS) initiative, aimed to ensure quick processing of applications for building permissions, is proving to be mutually beneficial for both Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and thousands of small and big builders in the State’s Capital. Launched in 2020 by IT and MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao, the TS-bPASS has enabled authorities to issue 23,012 building permits under GHMC limits, enabling the Town Planning wing to generate Rs 1,144.08 crore in 2021-2022, a significant jump when compared to Rs 661 crore that was generated in 2020-21. JNTU Hyderabad introduces new evaluation system for B Tech students

Hyderabad: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad has introduced a new evaluation system for B Tech students. As per Regulation 22, the university has brought in the Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) tests, from the new academic year 2022-23. Students will be graded based on their performance in the CIE and assignments. The CIE will carry 40 marks, whereas the end-semester exam will carry 60 marks. Earlier, the CIE consisted of 25 marks and the end semester exam carried 75 exams. As part of the CIE for theory subjects, students will have two mid-term examinations with each comprising part-A (objective/quiz paper) for 10 marks, and part B (descriptive paper) for 15 marks. Telangana govt reserves 85 percent of B-Category medical seats for locals

Hyderabad: Telangana government has issued two GOs making 85 percent of B-category seats in MBBS and BDS courses in unaided minority and non-minority medical colleges reserved for local candidates. The remaining 15 percent will be an open quota for which students from across the country can compete. There are 20 non-minority and four minority private colleges located in the state. The total intake capacity in these colleges is 3750 (3200 in non-minority and 550 in minority colleges). Out of 3200 seats in non-minority colleges and 550 seats in minority colleges, 1120 (35 percent) and 137 (25 percent) are under B-category. Schneider Electric lays foundation in Hyderabad, invests Rs 300 Cr

Hyderabad: Energy management and automation company Schneider Electric on Wednesday laid the foundation for a Smart Factory at GMR Industrial Park in the city.
