Hyderabad: MLA Raja Singh to appear before PD Act advisory board
Hyderabad: Suspended BJP Goshamahal legislator T Raja Singh will appear before the Preventive Detention (PD) Act advisory board today on September 29. The board will question Raja Singh through a video conference. The MLA has been in jail ever since he was detained under the PD Act by the Hyderabad police last month. Raja Singh was taken into custody after he made derogatory comments against Prophet Muhammad in a video that was posted on Youtube. Hyderabad: HC directs police to act against pubs in residential areas
Hyderabad: Telangana High Court issued an order against pubs violating rules. The order directed the police not to allow pubs in residential areas. It also stated that strict action should be taken against those playing loud music without a license. Justice K Lalitha issued the interim orders while hearing the petition of two citizens belonging to Jubilee Hills. The petitioners complained that the pubs were not only operating illegally in residential areas but also responsible for nuisance and noise pollution. Hyderabad hospital asked to refund Rs 2 lakh to COVID patient – Here’s why
Hyderabad: A Hyderabad hospital has been asked to refund Rs 2 lakh collected from a COVID-19 patient two years ago. Hyderabad District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has also asked the hospital located in Malakpet to pay Rs 10, 000 to the patient, Abid Hussain, towards litigation costs incurred by him. As per media reports, the patient was charged a bill of Rs 5.4 lakh for his stay and treatment at the hospital from July 16 to 25, 2020. Man held for forgery in Hyderabad
The Task Force along with the Asifnagar police nabbed a man on charges of preparing and selling fake job visas and air tickets to job aspirants on Tuesday. The arrested person is Syed Sarfaraz Uddin (25), private employee from Mehdipatnam. He was earlier involved in similar cases. Police said Syed Sarfaraz who worked at a hospital in Abu Dhabi for a year, returned to Hyderabad. Since then, he started collecting money from job aspirants promising them jobs in hospital. He created fake job visas, labour contract and agreement for the same. Officials seized 13 fake visas, 1 fake air ticket, 13 fake labour contracts, 13 fake agreements and 1 mobile phone. Source

India reports 3,230 fresh Covid cases, 32 deaths
New Delhi: India has reported 3,230 fresh Covid infections and 32 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday. With the fresh fatalities, the death toll mounted to 5,28,562 as per the report. Meanwhile, the active caseload of the country presently stands at 42,358 cases, accounting for 0.10 per cent of the country’s total positive cases. The recovery of 4,255 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,40,04,553. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.72 per cent.
