BJP leader arrested for cheating MBBS aspirant in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Kothapalli Satish Kumar, was on Tuesday arrested by the Hyderabad Detective Department on charges of cheating a man of Rs.48.53 lakh on the pretext of arranging a seat in a medical college for his daughter. According to the police, Satish Kumar, a resident of Kamalanagar in Boduppal, collected Rs.48.53 lakh from one person assuring to arrange an MBBS seat in a medical college in Bachupally. However, he did not do so and when the student’s family asked him to return their money, Satish forged an allotment order and gave it to them. The cheating, police said, did not stop there. Hyderabad: Person carrying fake currency over Rs 3 lakhs arrested

Hyderabad: One person was apprehended by the Gopalapuram Police on Tuesday, for carrying fake currency notes worth Rs 3.16 lakhs, informed the police. The arrest was made at Indranagar colony, Kalimandir, Bandlaguda Jagir in Hyderabad and the man has been identified as Kasthuri Ramesh Babu. He was allegedly moving with fake currency notes. As per the police, he himself confessed his guilt when Police enquired from him. The police seized fake currency worth more than three lakhs from the accused. GHMC Council ratifies 25 proposals despite attempts by BJP corporators to disrupt proceedings

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Council, which met here on Tuesday, ratified 25 proposals, all despite repeated attempts by corporators of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress to disrupt the proceedings. Telangana sees spike in dengue cases, administration on toes

Hyderabad: The state of Telangana has witnessed a spike in dengue cases. According to the Superintendent of Government Fever Hospital, Dr K Shankar, there has been an increase in outpatients (OP). “There are around 1,000 plus OP on examination and symptoms like cold cough, body pains and some rashes in the body were found”, he added. He further said that most of the cases are those of dengue. Last month, the state had around 80 cases but in September, around 100 confirmed cases were reported at the Fever Hospital. Hyderabad: India Meteorological Department Hyderabad (IMD H) has issued a yellow alert as the city is likely to receive rainfall on Tuesday.
