4 Hindu Mahasabha leaders who plotted cow slaughter in Agra arrested
The Agra Police has detained four Hindu Mahasabha office bearers in connection with a plot to incite communal violence and disrupt peace in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra. India Today on April 8 reported that police revealed names of some members of the Bharat Hindu Mahasabha that surfaced in the cow slaughter plot. The cow was slaughtered during Ram Navami celebrations in Gautam Nagar of Etmaduddaula area to stoke communal unrest. On April 7, Agra police detained Nakeem and Rizwan, while searching for two other youngsters, Shanu and Bittu, in connection with a cow slaughter incident in Gautam Nagar. Indian soldiers who ‘killed civilians in botched raid’ will not face prosecution
India’s government has refused to grant permission for police to prosecute 30 soldiers after a botched anti-insurgency operation in the northeastern state of Nagaland led to the deaths of 13 civilians. On 4 December 2021, Indian army troops opened fire at a pickup truck carrying eight local miners near Oting village in Nagaland’s Mon district. What was believed to be a counter-insurgency operation based on a tip turned out to be a case of “mistaken identity”, the military later admited. Six miners died on the spot, while two survived. CBI summons Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in excise policy case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday summoned Delhi chief minsiter Arvind Kejriwal for questioning on April 16 in connection with the excise policy case. Jharkhand: ED arrests 7 in money laundering case
