HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, ministers, officials and employees resumed working from the Secretariat at full strength after a gap of nearly three years. Rao spent about five hours in the premises from 12.30 pm to around 5.30 pm.

Ministers, officials and staff worked from the old Secretariat till July 2019, when it was shifted to BRKR Bhavan and other government buildings to pave the way for demolition of old Secretariat and to construct a new one in its place.

Confusion prevailed on Day 1 among officials and staff on entering the Secretariat. They had a tough time locating their office rooms in the six floors. The Secretariat has main gates in four directions — northwest, northeast, southeast and east. The officials, staff and visitors were seen shuttling between different gates with security personnel denying them entry and asking them to use the other gates.

The Chief Minister entered through the east gate and first reached the Yagashala where Sudharshana Yagam was performed on Sunday. He participated in the special puja before entering his chambers on the sixth floor.

Rao also visited the offices of his secretaries, additional secretaries and public relation officers on the sixth floor and inquired about the arrangements made in their chambers.

He walked through the corridors and discussed various issues with the officials.
Later, the Chief Minister returned to his chambers and held a meeting with public representatives, who came to meet him.
