Revanth can’t match my stature, says Etala
BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, MLA Etala Rajendar and others pay tributes to Lord Basaveshwara on his birth anniversary.
HYDERABAD: BJP MLA Etala Rajendar said on Sunday, “TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy does not have the stature to compare himself with me,” further stoking that controversy that had erupted after he claimed that the BRS had paid the Congress 25 crores to lose the Munugode byelection.
“We fought for Telangana statehood and went to jail, whereas Revanth Reddy was arrested in the cash-for-vote case,” he said and asked where the TPCC chief was the statehood movement was at its peak.
Speaking to the media at the BJP state office, Rajendar said he was fighting against the egoistic politics of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. “If Revanth Reddy is committed to fighting against KCR, he should join hands with us,” Rajender said.
However, he said, the Congress was working with the BRS in Parliament, and its leaders were indicating an alliance between the two. To buttress his argument of a Congress-BRS tie-up, Rajendar asked: “The police usually place Revanth Reddy under house arrest if he announces a protest. What is the secret that made the police pave the way for him to reach the Bhagyalakshmi temple.” He claimed Revanth Reddy had objectionable language against him at the Bhagyalakshmi temple.
